Fees & Transparent Pricing
Pricing transparency is central to the way I work, ensuring you feel fully informed and confident about costs from the outset, with no hidden extras or unexpected surprises. All fees are shown in advance, so you can focus on the support you need rather than worrying about what you will be charged.
My fees are fixed for the period 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. This means the rate we agree at the start of our work together will remain the same throughout this timeframe, providing you with stability and peace of mind when planning ahead.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Fees include assessment, standard pre‑reading, and a full written report where stated.
No travel charge within 25 miles of Swansea (see Travel Costs below).
Complex or urgent cases may attract a higher fee, always discussed and agreed in advance
VAT is not charged on my fees, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay.

Travel Costs
Free travel — within 25 miles of base
If your location is within 25 miles of my Swansea base (postcode SA7), travel is included at no charge.
Charges for journeys further out
For locations beyond that, I charge only for the extra distance — never the whole journey. The first 50 miles of the round trip (25 miles each way) remain free. Beyond that, I charge 55p per mile for each additional round-trip mile, in line with the current HMRC approved mileage rate.
Example Travel Costs
A 70-mile round trip is 20 miles over the free allowance, so the travel charge would be 20 × 55p = £11.
Long‑Distance Travel Time
Travel time is not routinely charged. Travel exceeding 150 miles or requiring overnight stay may attract agreed time costs.
Public Transport
Standard‑class fares only unless expressly authorised.
Accommodation & Subsistence
If an overnight stay is needed, I book reasonable mid-range accommodation only, and agree the cost with you in advance
Expenses
Any out-of-pocket costs — parking, tolls, postage, and necessary printing — are charged at cost and itemised on your invoice. I'll always try to flag any expense over £50 with you before it's incurred.
Possible Extra Charges
In some situations, additional fees may apply. Common examples include:
- Urgent or out-of-hours work
- Travel beyond the standard service area
- Interpreters, specialist input, or other third-party services
- Significant changes to the agreed scope of work
Any extra charges are always discussed with you in advance and confirmed in writing before the work proceeds.
What payment methods and terms do you accept?
Full Terms and Conditions can be found here Terms & Conditions
Preferred Payment Method – Bank Transfer
My preferred method of payment is bank transfer.
Bank account details are provided on the invoice so that payment can be made quickly and securely.
Bank transfer payments do not attract any additional processing fees.
Card Payments and Charges
I also accept card payments (including debit and credit card payments processed online).
Where you choose to pay by card, a card processing fee of 1.5% of the total invoice amount plus a fixed charge of 20 pence per transaction is added to cover third‑party processing costs.
You are free to choose either payment method, but bank transfer is encouraged to avoid these additional card processing charges.
